Nixon and the Assassination

During my years of contemplating the Kennedy assassination I became very intrigued by the actions of, at the time,  former VP Richard Nixon.  Not just the obvious and suspicious actions of Nixon on returning from Dallas on the day of the assassination, but other things.  One of the first things that grabbed my attention was the fact that Nixon had sent a memo to the FBI in the late 40s asking the FBI to exclude Ruby from questioning because he, at the time, was giving Nixon information.

I was much more suspicious after reading transcripts and notes of the meetings following the Watergate break-in.  Nixon wants the FBI off the investigation because he believes it would open up the “whole bay of pigs thing” which Nixon used as a code for the Kennedy Assassination.

While this may not immediately prove Nixon played a part in the assassination it does prove he at least had information of the assassination.

Recently the Dallas District Attorney released some documents concerning the Kennedy Assassination.  The documents include court papers, and a reported transcript of a conversation between Oswald and Ruby.  The Dallas Morning News is asking for people to go through the documents to find out if there is any relevant information.  You can access the documents at the link below.

What got me back in the game

I started my fascination with the Kennedy Assassination at a fairly young age.  I had always been interested in history but a cousin of mine had started a fairly decent size archive of Kennedy stuff and we had a great time trying to solve the ultimate puzzle.  After completing my degree I didn’t mess with the Kennedy assassination or much history, with career and family to worry about.  Recently, I found the death bed confession of E. Howard Hunt.  In my last history paper as a college senior I had tried to make the case that Watergate, Nixon and  the Kennedy Assassination were all tied together.  After listening to the statements by Mr. Hunt it seems to me that more information is out there than ever before and deserves a much closer look.

In the tape that was given to E. Howard’s son, E. Howard lies the blame for the assassination at the feet of LBJ and a man named Cord Meyer.  Now I had certainly heard his wife’s name, Mary, associated by some conspiracy buffs because she had an affair with JFK and was murdered in mysterious circumstances.  I had heard very little about her husband.

I also came across an interview with LBJ’s mistress.  According to her story, there is also many connections to LBJ and the assassination.  Granted, I am only now beginning to get back into the investigation but I find these new developments to be quite interesting.

My beginning premise

I believe that there was a very wide spead conspiracy to assassinate President John F. Kennedy.  There is evidence to suggest that the CIA and mafia were involved.  However, I intend to try and make a case that the conpiracy may have been more wide spread with people like Johnson, and Nixon having played a part.  I also believe that there are dubious connections between the Kennedy Assassination and Watergate. 

I am certainly interested in not only hearing any information that may support my premise but any other theories as well.

Who am I and what I am doing here and important disclaimers

In 1997, I finished a degree in History with a senior project on the assassination of John F. Kennedy.  Yes, certainly a topic that has been beat to death.  I investigated a somewhat unpopular theory of the people behind the assassination.  I turned to the traditional sources for my work like books and turned to the Internet a great deal for additional research.  At that time, I found the Internet to be difficult and labor intensive to find the information I was seeking.  While I certainly finished the project with a grade good enough to secure my degree I was never truly happy with the result.  I have not worked on my theory in 11 years. 

Recently, I was bored and did some Kennedy assassination research to find a virtual smorgasbord of information.  Not only was research easier but I found other people with a theory similar to mine.  Better search engines and some research sites gave me a great wealth of information and left me very excited to give my theory another shot.  I would love to start this blog as a way for people to help me with my research and send me in new directions and also help other people with research or just an interest in the topic.  I plan to not only discuss my theory but encourage any other theories for public investigation or consumption.

It is very important to note that when researching a possible conspiracy, such as this, that names may appear, allegations may be made, theories discussed and opinions encouraged.  This is only done in a intellectual pursuit and with no malice.  This will be a process and no conclusions will be reserved for the reader.  I can certainly endorse my theory but at this point it is only a theory and not meant to defame anyone.  Any other contributors to this forum that endorse their own conclusions are responsible for those and are not printed here as fact and are endorsed by myself or the folks that make this blog possible.
